As the Pro Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor (Director General)  of Ganpat University, Dr. Mahendra Sharma leads the academic and executive functions of the University. He has over 25 years of experience in developing and delivering industry-focused and skill-based programs in various academic disciplines. He has curated transformational Educational Models that have been instrumental in ensuring Student Success and University evolution. He is Professor with a Ph.D. in Management.

Dr. Sharma has initiated and established several academic faculty, institutions, campuses, centres of excellence, collaborations, and innovations at the University and guided several initiatives, such as the Startups and Incubation Centre, Centre for Advanced Research Studies, Centre for Management Studies and Research, Centre for International Alliances, the Institute of Technology, Institute of Agriculture Sciences, Institute of Nursing, Institute of Physiotherapy, Institute of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Skills Development. He has also forged partnerships with top corporates like IBM, Oracle, SAS, Bosch Rexroth, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, eInfochips, and TCS, and with universities in Australia, USA, Canada, UAE, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, and UK

Dr. Sharma conceived, implemented and evolved the Skills Education at the University with the establishment of National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, National Centre for Electronics, National Centre for Rubber, Petrochemicals and Chemicals, National Centre for Bakery, Centre for Media and Entertainment, National Centre for Sports, Wellness and Fitness and Japan-India Institute of Manufacturing

He has received multiple awards and honours for his outstanding contribution to the field of education and his visionary efforts in launching industry-linked models and sectoral specialisations including ASSOCHAM Edupreneur of the Year 2015 Award, The Economic Times Tech Visionary Vice-Chancellor of India for 2023-24. He is passionate about enhancing the quality and relevance of higher education in India and abroad.
